The Elysian 

Requirement

During the construction of The Elysian it was being marketed by its owners, O’Flynn Construction, as ‘Ireland’s biggest secret’. With a title like that you can not afford to disappoint. O’Flynn Construction wanted to build a premier complex of both quality accommodation and unparalleled retail opportunities. They also set out to build a unit with a modern striking and memorable design. They needed building products that would provide the visual aesthetics and functionality that the building demanded, particularly for the red tower.  A roof covering was needed to compliment the building’s eye-catching appearance whilst providing a sound waterproofing solution.

Solution

Protan supplied this project through its business partner in Ireland and Northern Ireland, Colas Building Products Ltd. Both Protan SE and GX membrane were used in various colours including dark grey and red; making it the ideal solution for The Elysian. Protan membrane can be installed onto vertical and horizontal surfaces making it the perfect choice for providing the continuity required when waterproofing the flat roofs and the up stands. Protan membrane was also specified to cover the other roofs, ensuring superior waterproofing for the entire roof and its various details.  This led the finished complex to win the much coveted ‘Irish Residential Property of the Year’.

Warranty

Protan (UK) Ltd presented a 20 year warranty for the SE systems installed at The Elysian. This comes with an assurance that all Protan (UK) Ltd products have excellent durability and high performance under extreme weather conditions.
