The project sees the original building receiving an update alongside a new 600m² extension. The 1967 grade B listed building by Peter Foggo of Arup Associates, will now include an open-plan office and meeting space designed by haa architects to incorporate a fusion of modern and original design.
Arup were keen to develop a building with high sustainability standards, choosing to incorporate wind catchers, solar tubes and natural cross ventilation regulated by perimeter glazing and a central cupola. Protan’s SE membrane delivers a high level of flexibility, making it a suitable choice for navigating the 35 sun pipes across the roof. Protan’s Standard Overlap System also means that the membrane can be recycled at the end of its working life, enhancing the sustainability of the building.
