Commercial Manager at Protan KSA in the Middle East
We are pleased to formally introduce Mohamed Dawood, who has been part of our team for almost one year in the role of Commercial Manager. Based in the Middle East, Dawood has already contributed to several projects and is playing a key role in strengthening our customer focus in the region.
In his role, Dawood manages sales activities, market strategy, and customer training for Protan’s waterproofing solutions. Supporting clients with technical assistance ensures successful project delivery across the Middle East. Looking forward, a key priority is expanding Protan’s waterproofing portfolio, including liquid-applied membranes and injection products.
The roofing and tunneling market in the Middle East shows strong demand and promising opportunities. Customers increasingly value quality, durability, and sustainability, while also facing challenges such as cost and environmental factors.
“Protan has the potential to be a market leader in the Middle East. By strengthening our sales presence and introducing the Protan brand more widely in the region, we can achieve sustainable growth,” Dawood explains.
Delivering customer value is central to Dawood’s work. With deep technical knowledge, sales leadership, and regional understanding, he provides expert advice and hands-on support.
A key part of the role is collaborating with distributors, following up closely to monitor performance and adjust strategies when needed. “This helps us stay on track and deliver better results for our customers,” he adds.
Motivated by the chance to work with a leading company, Dawood joined Protan to expand regional expertise and contribute to growth.
By being approachable, reliable, and responsive, he builds strong, long-term relationships with clients. “My cultural insight and close customer connections — even with new clients — help create stable and sustainable sales figures in the region,” Dawood says.
The ambition for the coming year is to grow Protan’s footprint and drive innovative projects across the Middle East. Dawood want to deliver strong and even unexpected sales growth while extending Protan’s presence to new countries under his responsibility.
Before joining Protan, Dawood worked in civil engineering and the construction chemicals sector, where he gained over 25 years of experience in sales and management. Over the years, he held several key positions, including a Waterproofing Sales Manager position in Egypt and country sales manager in Sudan. Dawood also successfully ran his own business as a waterproofing and flooring applicator in Egypt, further strengthening his technical and practical expertise. With broad regional experience across Sudan, the Middle East, and Egypt, he has developed strong knowledge across the full range of construction chemicals.
